BlueTooth Low Energy (BTLE)
For indoor navigation purposes we have developed a BTLE (Bluetooth low power) beacon that works on 2 batteries for at least 5 years. Each beacon transmits a unique code that is linked to a location. If you come close with a receiver, you know where you are. The location determination is refined by using the signal strength of the beacon.
This technique makes it possible to determine one’s whereabouts within a few metres. It is not only used for indoor location determination (IPS) but also for targeted advertising messages (narrowcasting), targeted information provision, etc.
The BTLE beacons are also used by X-Guard, so that the position of guards or only workers can also be determined at positions where GPS reception is not possible or where it is desired that it can be determined on which floor one is located.
