Sometimes there is a need for energy, but a cable connection is not practical, for example for moving parts, humid environments, or hard-to-reach places.
Inductive engery transfer by air
In that case, an inductive energy transfer can help. Many of you already know this principle from the electric toothbrush, but it is also being used more and more often in, for example, mobile phones. The principle is simple: keep two coils close together, one coil is supplied with alternating current, in the other coil a voltage is generated that can be used to charge a battery, for example.
